f)Curriculum
SPUS offers undergraduate and graduate programs in the fields of Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Teacher Education, Business, Technology, and Health Sciences. In addition to tertiary level courses, the university also implements the K-12 program to its students. Its Senior High School (SHS) program offerings, on the other hand, include Academic, Arts and Design, Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL), and Sports tracks. Short-Term Technical-Vocational courses for individuals who want to earn a National Certification (NC) are available as well.

In kindergarten, the pupils are mandated to learn the alphabet, numbers, shapes and colours through games, songs, pictures and dances, but in their native language; thus after Grade 1, every student can read on his/her native tongue.
1. The 12 original mother tongue languages that have been introduced for the 2012–2013 school year are Bicolano, Cebuano, Chavacano, Hiligaynon, Ilocano, Kapampangan, Maguindanaoan, Maranao, Pangasinense, Tagalog, Tausug and Waray-Waray.
2. 7 more mother tongue languages have been introduced for the 2013–2014 school year. These are Aklanon, Ibanag, Ivatan, Kinaray-a, Sambal, Surigaonon and Yakan.
3. A common poem read in Filipino kindergartens is Ang aking alaga (My pet); a common song, Ako ay may lobo (I have a balloon).
In Grade 1, the subject areas of English and Filipino are taught, with a focus on "oral fluency".
In Grade 4, the subject areas of English and Filipino are gradually introduced, but now, as "Languages of Instruction".
The Science and Mathematics subjects are now modified to use the spiral progression approach starting as early as Grade 1 which means that every lesson will be taught in every grade level starting with the basic concepts to the more complex concepts of that same lesson until Grade 10.
The high school from the former system will now be called Junior High School, while Senior High School will be the 11th and 12th year of the new educational system. It will serve as a specialized upper secondary education. In the senior high school, students may choose a specialization based on aptitude, interests, and school capacity. The choice of career track will define the content of the subjects a student will take in Grades 11 and 12. Senior high school subjects fall under either the core curriculum or specific tracks.
·     Core curriculum learning areas include languages, literature, communication, mathematics, philosophy, natural sciences and social sciences.
·     There are four choices that are available to be chosen by the students — or the so-called "specific tracks". These are:
Academic, which includes four strands which are:

1.  Accountancy, Business & Management (ABM) - for those interested in pursuing college or university education in fields of accountancy, business management, business administration, office management, economics, or entrepreneurship.

4.      Observation on Teacher(s)
a)   Planning for teaching
Before the learning process start, the teacher always making lesson plan, she not using power point because it’s difficult to teach physics with power point, so she teach in order way as manual way.
b)   Preparing lessons and materials
The teacher did not make lesson plan for a week, but she make lesson plan for each day, so she can manage her time management.
c)    Teaching in class
When I observed her teaching in the class , I was immediately fascinated as  how well she was when delivering lesson. This was amazing for a teacher in her 2 years teaching experience.
Ms. Nessel was one of a good role models. She was very energetic. She teaches in junior and senior high school at once. In senor high school, she taught in the STEM (Science Technology Engineering, and Mathematics) classes including STEM 1 and STEM 4, also in the GAS 1 (General Academics Strand) class. However, I requested that I only teach at STEM 1 and STEM 4 classes, so my teaching hours were fulfilled and not exceeding the prescribed time limit.
When she was teaching, I felt like that the students never got bored. Because the way she delivered the material was very good and easily understood by the students. The students were  also very enthusiastic when learning. Even though there were some students who are sleepy, or busy with their gadgets, she has a lot of smartway to keep their focus in the lesson.
d)   Measurement and Evaluation
The teacher uses activities/ task and homework to evaluate the student. After she examined all student’s paper, she will give it back for them, so they also can know how much their scores and know their knowledge.
5.                Teaching Practice
a)   Procedures of Teaching
First of all must guide the students for pray, do the preliminary activities likes checking the attendance, review the past material or give motivation. Then, give explanation about the material or making brainstorming to catch Student’s attention. After that, teacher will evaluate the students by giving an activities/task or homework.
b)   Time Management and Organizing Activities
I take 26 hours during practice teaching in STEM 1 and STEM 4. Every class I taught 2 hours. On Monday and Tuesday I taught only 2 hours, but on Wednesday until Friday I taught 4 hours in a day.
Time
Activities
07.45
Opening the lesson with praying
07.47
Checking Student’s Attendance
07.55
Starting the lesson with reviewing the material
08.00
Making brainstorming by asking some question related to the material
08.15
Explaining the material, make problem-solving, asking the students to solving some problem,
09.20
Give an exercise/activity for the students and let them to solve it.
09.45
Closing the lesson with pray and greeting.

c)    Problem-Solving
For evaluation, I just used the activities. I gave them some problems, then let them solve it with their selves . If I found difficulties when making lesson plan, I asked my cooperating teacher. When I was teaching, if the students made a noise, I made louder my voice or I asked to the noisy one to solve the problem on the board. If the student fall asleep, I will go closer to wake up him/her then asked them to solve the problem on the board.
d)   Classroom Management
Every class I taught 2 hours. On Monday I taught only 2 hours in STEM 1, on Tuesday I taught STEM 4 in 2 hours. But, on Wednesday until Friday I taught 4 hours because I taught STEM 1 and STEM 4 in a day.
6.           Summary and Suggestion
a)   Purposes of Practicum
The purpose of this program is to make us more confident. Because, I think after I followed this program, I am so confident to teach in front of the class. I also feel like this program gives me the new knowledge, likes about culture, education, how to be a good teacher, how to manage the class, how to understand what students needs, learnt more about the different characters of the students, and to improved my teaching and English skill.
b)   Procedures of practicum
I could followed the procedure of practicum in ths school eventhough its a little bit different with my country, because the diference of culture, religion, etc. The procedure of practicum in here make my habit will be more dicipline.
c)    Outcomes of practicum
The outcomes were I could got my readiness to teach in my country and took the value that could improved my ability in teaching in my country. Or maybe in another country 😊 who knows ??? haha
d)   The challenges of practicum
I must handle a class with many of students there, so its make me to loudly my voice when teaching the class. Some of them can’t speak English, it’s hard for me to explain, so I will order some of students to help their friends.
e)    Overall impression
I met many kind of good people. The principle, the teachers, and especially the students. They were very welcome, smile at me, share everything about Philippines and also be my friends hahaha . I also met the second family. They are my SEA Teacher friends; Anggia, Mady, Vivian, Riana, Dina, Benny, Indry, Nadia, Fida and Fitry, My cooperating teacher; Ms. Nessel Auditor who is the Best Role Model in Teaching Experience for me, Our buddies ; Raychelle, Lyra, Jeffry, and Feh who always help us during we stayed in Surigao city, and My all beloved Students in STEM 1 and STEM 4. I’m so happy because from the beginning until the end, I can make them understand about the materials. Although I know, they don’t really like Physics, but I always try my best every time when I teach them.
So many memorable things happen here, and I’m glad to be with all of you. Thankyou for ma'am Galaura, ma'am Maricar, our strongman; Mr. Edwin, Mr. Toni, and all people that always help us during this program.
For the Dean of CECA department Sr. Marie Dabalus, SPC, I want to say Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to be real teacher in SPUS. 😊
f)    Suggestion for future improvement

for SPUS:
The university already gave the best for us, all the accommodation also. But, we a bit confused about the requirements. So I suggest to give the explaining to the student teachers on the beginning of program what requirements should they do to be submitted at the end of program.
for SEA-Teacher
I hope for the next program, the information about this program will share more wide, hopefully all of Southeast Asia countries can join this program, not only Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand. And then, The rules will be explain clearly, so there is no miscommunication again in the future.
